Anita Choudhury finds a way to earn and support her family starting a Kirana Store

A SHG member empowers her family and in turn empowers the society. This is the story of Smt. Anita Choudhury of Bhajantipur Gaon Panchayat under BMMU Silchar. In spite of belonging to a small village she has completed her basic education. Anita stays in a family where there are four dependant persons upon her. Taking care of such family has always been a great responsibility. She became so involved in her family responsibilities that she could not even think of getting married. Determined to help her family, Anita was so firm to do something of her own. She stated a small kirana shop, first in a bamboo structured and mud house in early 2017. Laxmi Rani Sinha of Moon Self Help Group of Bhajantipur Gaon Panchayat under BMMU Silchar. She got married in the year 2010 and she came to this village. Her husband had a small sweet shop by which they could run their small family. In the meantime, her family grew and she became a mother of two children. Naturally, their expenses increases, this further leads to financial crises in their family. BMMU Silchar became ASRLM intensive in the year 2018 and started working in full swing.  Although the woman initially expressed reluctance to join a self-help group, but later after several awareness from the block officials the lady came into ASRLM fold.
