Anita Choudhury finds a way to earn and support her family starting a Kirana Store
A SHG member empowers her family and in turn empowers the society. This is the story of Smt. Anita Choudhury of Bhajantipur Gaon Panchayat under BMMU Silchar. In spite of belonging to a small village she has completed her basic education. Anita stays in a family where there are four dependant persons upon her. Taking care of such family has always been a great responsibility. She became so involved in her family responsibilities that she could not even think of getting married. Determined to help her family, Anita was so firm to do something of her own. She stated a small kirana shop, first in a bamboo structured and mud house in early 2017. Her determined and focused approach led her to look for options that could bring stability in her life. It is then she became a member of ‘Swarnajyoti’ Self Help Group under Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission.
